I've been contemplating changing majors lately. Not very seriously. But perhaps I've grown tired of the ambiguity that teachers create when they try to define what constitutes good writing. Perhaps I want to major in something that will bring me immediate respect. I want to be Dana, civil engineer major, or Dana, pre-medical student. Not Dana, English major, who may or may not make any money or do anything of importance in the world. I don't know where this is coming from--maybe I'm just tired of writing literary analysis papers. Maybe I just want a departure from this ambiguity.
