In mid to late September, after about 3 or 4 weeks of school, I begin to abandon all of my noble intentions. I write my essays the night before they are due and then wake up 10 minutes before my classes, cursing my printer which will inevitably choose to malfunction in my time of need and running to class with a mismatched outfit, glasses and frizzy hair.

This leads to the cycle that will define my life for the rest of the semester.

Near the end of the semester, the cycle has evolved into a more malignant one, that has effectively fried my concentration capabilities:

This leads to the finals week effect:
This is a very serious condition that can lead to overuse of the internet, odd solitaire addictions, and a general need to avoid studying at all costs. To avoid it, lock yourself up in the nearest library, avoiding computers, windows, Christmas decorations, other people, phones, iPods, and daydreams at all costs. Ideally, you should find blinders so that the only thing you can see is the study material at hand and drink plenty of Dr. Pepper to keep you from accidentally falling asleep. Also, you should be aware that after ten minutes of solid studying, you will want to run to the testing center to take your test and be done with it. This should be avoided at all costs. Good luck with your finals, and remember, after they are done, you will have 2 weeks of freedom before the cycle starts all over again!
