Hardy Times

Am I a somber person? Do I really seem sad all the time? I really am a fairly happy person, but I admit that, especially in my writing, I tend to enjoy taking a morbid view of things. Perhaps it's because it seems so much more poetic. I suppose I take delight in something that is truly poetic. Just like these lines from Thomas Hardy:

"The smile on your mouth was the deadest thing
Alive enough to have strength to die"

I can't help it. Lines like these are just so dang poetic, I can't help but loving them.

PS-Please watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5C99JyP2ns--featuring Jacqueline Du Pré, who is amazing, especially when playing the Elgar Cello Concerto.
